stp 6 Posted February 22, 2014 I think the dark structure against the light background has a lot of potential, but the extensive vignetting, especially in the foreground, detracts from the scene, IMO. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted February 23, 2014 For me this image is powerful enough as to provoke in myself a cascade of emotions, solitude, sense of immensity, fear even, as the image of "the day after", when nothing and nobody survived our own violent stupidity as the dominant species. Straight to my favorite folder. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted February 23, 2014 I think Stephen may have a point, I wasn't sure at first, but I occidentally minimised my screen which in effect cropped your image to landscape, and I think it looks a lot more powerful and dramatic without the dark background, perhaps even a crop to landscape?Good vision to see the potential in the shot! Compliments! Alf Link to comment
elke s. 0 Posted February 23, 2014 Hello all, thank you for your thoughts. I try another version and compare. I’m careful with cropping, because you losing a lot of quality, perhaps not visible in small web version, but in a print you can see it. The better way is to improve it the next time while you take the photo ;-) Elke Link to comment
drorbaldinger 0 Posted February 23, 2014 I would disagree with my dear, Liverpool fan, Alf. I find the photograph very powerful in that it draws my eyes in, like a speeding train. Sometimes the exaggerated adds to power and drama. I would say, it works here. Link to comment
