Most impressive, breathtaking, powerful and full of different meanings. Unique, hard to categorize, and......spectacular! Masterful technique. Congratulations.

I am not sure if I like this or not. Please do not take that the wrong way. The image is excellent. It is just the subject is a little haunting. Very clever work!

It's a great work, creative, full of fantasy and well conceived! The texture on the face is strong and make a big contrast with those beatiful eyes! The tear it's an other strong point! I should crop some hair on the top, but anyway: bravo or brava! (6) Ciao Sergio

Art X,

I agree with David.  This image is creepy, that doesn't mean its bad. It means it is powerful enough to evoke a reaction. Whether I like it or not I still do not know (I've looking at this for a few minutes too).  You technique on the other hand I do know. Excellent.  Thanks for this one.

I would only replaced the blurred hair with sharp, it isn't at all difficult! Just one more shot, selecting the hair and drag and drop on this picture!

Best regards, Art X!

(7) Masterful and thought provoking.  Those clear staring eyes peering out from the broken flesh...  Haunting.  Heavy feelings swell up inside me, I see the poster child of abuse.  Fantastic work, from the hands (and eyes) of a fine artist.  Congratulations!  Best regards...

Thank you all very much for your thoughts on this image. I created this image of my daughter because of the very reasons/ feelings many of you have when viewing it. Its somewhat a disturbing and uneasy image to view. I guess I try, where possible, to push the boundaries and try to create something thought provoking. While working on this image, I continuously found myself looking into my daughter's eyes and smiling at all the great times we have when we're out and about.

The tear and expression are real, not fabricated.

She was crying because she couldn't have a cookie she wanted since it was so close to dinner time and it would have ruined her appetite.

Thanks again everyone, I appreciate your visit and thoughts

Disturbing, emotive, moving and slightly uncomfortable, and for all those reasons a great photograph! The selective eye colour really grabs the viewers attention.

Excellent!

Excellent image, it is indeed thought provoking. I love the story which goes with the picture.

Full marks and it goes to the favourite folder.

When you decide to push the envelope Art, you always do it well. I loved reading your comments about 'smiling when you looked at her eyes'. Your reasons for not letting Teah have a cookie sound so familiar and even though my youngest is almost 35, the years do not seem so far away. I am glad I still remember a lot of their 'toddler years'. I think it is these feelings that make it 'easier' for you to do such a 'dark' alteration to this image. While the 'cracked earth??' type of layer may disturb some, I understand your creative intent. The redeeming factor for those who may think it a bit 'different or disturbing' is her EYES!!! It was here eyes that I was drawn to from the start. The eyes and the tear. The colour of the eyes is outstanding as is the sparkle and clarity. Well done Art!! This composition truly has depth. (actually I was doing something similar to a pic of my son the other night, and almost feeling 'guilty'. However my final result I am sure will not be anything like what you have displayed here!)

kind regards, Gail

Hi Art, Excellent image in which you combine photography and art very well. The beaufiful eyes made a good contrast with the elements you included. Very well done!!!

Warmest regards,

LuDa
