Another shot from the Cape May International Jazz Festival last

year. Owens is the band leader and multi grammy award winner. He

Hi Holger,

You managed the available lighting well using the very good 20 mm lens at F/1.7.

The Olympus EM-5 4/3 format camera is a nice package to have during a concert. It is not too heavy and very easy to hold during any concert period.

As for the music, Betsy and I often enjoy local and out of state Jazz artists when they come to West Pam Beach.

Best Regards my friend, Mike

Thanks Mike I value your input very highly. The EM-5 is no more, lets just say someone needed it much more than I did. I did enjoy it very much, right now I'm thinking very hard about that new EM-1 which should be available shortly. Thanks for writing, take care my friend.

What I love about this shot is the painting in the background, it really lends a mood to the whole shot, impressions of water side cafes with live music, relaxing laid back and thoroughly enjoyable.

Nice and sharp too, great lighting and detail!

Compliments!

What a great shot.  Love this one.  +1 to what Alf said about the painting in the b/g.  It really adds to this photo.

Another wonderful capture of your time enjoying the 'Jazz'. Excellent image of this young man with very good lighting on his face, yet there is a warmth in the room as well that is very appealing. I too like the image in the background. That combined with the wood truly adds to the composition. Your camera and lens skills are well demonstrated in this image. I hope you enjoy the 'new' camera if you decide to purchase it!!

Warmest regards, Gail

Great capture from the right angle so that the painting on the wall looks like seeing through a window! Also wonderful and suitable colors! Congratulations, Holger!

Best regards

Marvelous use of this great lens, Holger. You managed a fine angle profiling the drummer and affording us a decent perspective of the drum set, not to miss out the lovely mood-setting painting and wooden panelling. Very effective light management.

I am late and everything that I wanted to say has already been said - I think. So just a couple of likes:  the light hitting the front of the drummer's face and the background painting (6).

Sorry to hear about your camera.

Thanks all for the kind words. I'm so glad you like this image and had the time to check it out. Tony good of you to notice the light hitting his face it helped with the detail. Rajat, Patsy and Ruud thanks for the support and keen observations.
