charo 3 Posted November 13, 2013 I am not sure that the background works, but any comments are welcome. Link to comment
joshbodden 0 Posted November 14, 2013 Truthfully I love the background and the post processing work done on the picture. Lighting is also wonderful. The ONLY thing I have a question about is the daughters head...it looks positioned wrong with her shoulders set back a bit. Doesn't look quiet comfortable or natural. Even with that it's a great photo! Link to comment
charo 3 Posted November 14, 2013 Hi Josh. You are right about the position of her head, it was a snapshot. Thank you very much!Regards,Rosario. Link to comment
Felicidades. Link to comment

mike_palermiti 3 Posted November 17, 2013 Hi Rosario,Some of the nicest images that I have ever seen were snap shots.Images create and preserve memories, and this image has done that well.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
charo 3 Posted November 17, 2013 Mike and Ruud: Thank you very much for sharing your impressions about this picture. Te original photo was taken during a family gathering. I am doubting about the background, maybe I should pick one more neutral. Here is the original picture: Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted November 21, 2013 A remarkable portrait and I sense deep love and happiness - not just with the two individuals but with the photographer as well. The fact that this image gives this aura is a sign of success as a photographer. The slight diagonal composition with the hug and the position of hands are all very pleasing and that, IMHO is important. I agree that the background in the original image does not bring value but it's replacement, while better, is a bit too 'gritty' mostly because of the black spots. Of course this is just a personal preference and I don't have too much expertise with portraits so you may not want to take this critique too seriously. All the very best and thank you for a recent visit to one of my images. Link to comment

Mike Marcotte 50,753 Posted December 8, 2013 I've not seen smiles more genuine looking. A terrific portrait. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted December 9, 2013 The warmth of the expressions are delightful and this for me comes above everything else in conveying a sense of joy and togetherness. The background serves well to remove any distracting influences, but the overlap of the blending renders too many imperfections on the skin of the subjects. Though I am sure this is something that could be done with more selective intent. The perspective is good also and I like the apparent spontaneity, the fact that it doesn't look too preconceived or arranged. Sincere Compliments! Alf Link to comment
charo 3 Posted December 10, 2013 Mike, I appreciate your kind words. Alf, thanks for your kind comments and feedback, It has been useful, Initally the idea was that the background was gradually mixing with the portrait, but at the end, it was changing. Regards,Rosario. Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted April 4, 2014 I really like how they seem to be emerging from the textures. Such a lovely Mother and Daughter. The affection expressed is so beautiful! I think you did very well when I see the original. Sometimes it is difficult to remove the background. Well done! Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted June 23, 2014 Rosario, This is a fantastic portrait, snapshot or not. Mother and daughter look as if they could be sisters here. I like the natural look, the smiles and love evoked, and the bright eyes that speak. I don't really have a preference about the two versions. The orginal is not as artsy and the one with the spotted background, but I think i persoanlly prefer it for its realism. You have a terrific image here. My compliments. Larry Link to comment

sjmurray 34,255 Posted July 2, 2014 Great shot! Snapshots are often the best because they are essentially not "posed." I try to do all my portraits in this manner. Link to comment
