And I searched and searched for proof that this is a modern picture.

I was convinced this was a classic masterpiece.

Actually I still think it's great.

However the CCTV camera gave it away. This is a modern classic.

Have fun,

Matthijs.

wonderful thing about Europe, M, is luck to find many history-packed moments that just need a tweak of PP to put them in their classic space.  thank you ever so much for your enthusiasm, my friend ;-}

I can see you have been a having a great time in London!

I love street musicians, even the bad ones ...........there is something about live music in the open air that just fills the place with atmosphere!

Now I hope you are going to tell me that you ventured into a good old British pub and sampled the beer : - )

Wonderful street shot!

Best Regards

Hello Donna, Ok we've got two signs saying The Black Cap and then there's the street musician with "the black cap" and he's on camera to boot, whatta hoot. So well seen. Great street shot Donna.

Best,

Holger

Great capture, it would fit just fine with some Susan Sontag thoughts on photography…Best regards, vf

Holger, you are always so enthusiastic, and identify so well as a viewer. Matthijs thought it is was a classical masterpiece from another time, lol. so the high tech security camera is very helpful to locating the shot ;-} dp

Sontag… very interesting thinker, Vlad; a thinker to argue with and marvel at. She wrote, Vlad, that "photography has become one of the principle devices for experiencing something, for giving the appearance of participation." yes, Vlad, i live by that observation of hers. Thank you ;-} dp

Super Cool image made all the more so, or just made, by the chap in the had playing the flute...

All others have summed it up already so well, so there is very little I can add. But yes, the street musician is the black cap that makes this image sing. And for somebody playing a flute, that's quite extrordinary, I'd say.  Great, timeless photo.

Donna,   "The Black Cap" photograph seems to have that exquisite musicality arrangement of an old vintage imagery.  Although taken lately, somewhere in Camden Town; the monochrome, the old architecture, the cracks on the wall, the flute and so on... inspire nostalgia and beauty.  This is an excellent capture,  Bravo!
