A crop that looked like it would make a nice portrait of the American

White Pelican.

The bump I've been told, indicates they are in the "breeding season."

This was taken early last Spring in March.

Thanks for taking the time to view, comment/critique and, rate!

Cheers,

Jim j.

Nice portrait, Jim.  This American White Pelican is definitely in breeding season, and typically that happens after the first of the year.

Great sharpness at the eye and I do like the way angle of the neck and beak, it makes for a fine portrait!

Compliments!

Hi Jim, Great detail around that eye and I really like the wind effect at the back of his head, The colors and composition are spot on. Great shot.

I like the way the pelican stands out from the background. Excellent control of whites and very fine detail in eyes and bill. Excellent placement in frame. All adds up to make a great portrait!
