paulpluskwik 0 Posted September 4, 2013 This is a Landscape photo of a old Farm Homestead in northern Minnesota I saw along the old Back country roads this summer. There are many old barn and Buildings along the back roads from times gone by. Link to comment
tony-mistretta 0 Posted September 4, 2013 I think my first tendency would have been to get closer to the house, but I think your approach of using the road as a leading line to the house gives us more of a sense of where it is and the surrounding country fields. The gray clouds add to the mood and theme. Nice work. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted September 5, 2013 I think the road is not only a leading line, but it's also a supporting element to the idea of an abandoned homestead. I do like the composition and the context provided by the surroundings. Another alternative I'd suggest trying from this spot is to angle the camera down, thereby taking away about 50% of the sky above the house and giving it to the ground in front of you. That would still retain the most interesting clouds, and it would make the buildings less centered. I know there are lots of other photos here; one could spend several hours or several days (esp. as the clouds change). Very nice work. Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted September 5, 2013 You have lots of beautiful landscape photographs here. I like the abandoned home-state with the road to it. It seems to me, both building rooftop and the horizon, leaning to the right. I would correct this, regardless of the rest of the image level. IMHO.Cheers. Link to comment
