What a delightful photograph!

The image really looks a whole lot better in the larger view.

Wonderful details and sharpness and it has a real flavour of summer about it. Interesting processing too with the light vignetting, I like it!

Compliments and warm regards

Thank you!  I just "viewed large" myself and you're right, it does look better.  I shall have to remember to include "view large" on future posts.

I have very recently started shooting in RAW and processing my images and I  have to say, although it's very time consuming,  I am loving the quality of the end result :)

I'm really pleased you like this image, particularly the light vignetting.... I was "wowed" by all the different processing techniques in Lightroom.

Thanks again for your very kind words Alf, coming from such an acclaimed photograper as yourself I am truly humbled.

Warmest regards

Hi Jacqueline,

A nice image capture in Nature.

My suggestion with your Nikon D90 and 300 mm lens setting is that you use an F-stop larger than what you used here(f/14), like F/5.6 to F/8 maximum.

The lens performs better. The camera will also yield improved results as well.

Best Regards, Mike

Hi Mike

Thank you.... yes, Alf did say to me I should have used a larger F stop...which I will do in the future :)

Thank you for stopping by Mike it's appreciated :)

Hi Jacqueline,

Alf has learned well from me !

I just want to make people aware of how to get the most from their investments in cameras and lens.

There is no doubt that most images can be obtained at most f-stop settings, but for myself, I rely upon my knowledge from years of study and lab work to guide me how to best use my lens.

Best Regards, Mike
