Full panorama made of multiple images. Total width id over 15000pixels.

All constructive critiques are welcome :-)

Excellent sky and light and color around the clouds.  I would be inclined to open up the shadows in the foreground to show some detail.  Nice image.  Larry

Was this rotating on a tripod or did you move the tripod? Usually when I take panoramas like this from one point, the scale of objects to the sides tends to get smaller, city skylines for example. Colors are nice. I never have good luck with sunsets (for that matter, landscapes in general)

Larry: Thank you :-) The shadows have been lightens already, it could be because my screen is calibrated for print so it might not show the same on yours.

Jack: Thank you :-)

Line: Merci Line!!

Ray: No tripod... I stopped shooting with tripodes a while back unless there is motion or long exposure. Instead I shoot braketed and with Continious turned On. I try to avoid shooting at too low mm, I'll usually shoot 10% higher ten the minimum allowed by the lens.  I also do lens correction in Lightroom before assembly to remove distortions. Some of my panoramas go as wide as 35000pixels.

The sky is sensational, wonderful colours and cloud patterns. I think you have allowed the correct proportions for it too, giving the priority to the most attractive features of the image.

I am curious to know why you would stitch so many images together to achieve this shot.  I am sure I could get most if not all of this scene captured with a 14 mm lens on a full frame camera, ok I would have to crop the foreground to achieve the panorama effect, but with single RAW files at 72MB it would still leave an image that could be printed at very large proportions.

Don't get me wrong I am not in any way criticising the image, I think it looks great, I am just curious about the need for stitching?

Compliments and Best Regards

Alf

Alf: Even if you did criticize the Image I would appreciate the comment :-)

To answer your question... 15000 pixels wide at 1/1 that is equal to 4 feet wide without resizing at 300pxels ;-) Imagine the print now *evil grin*
