The mountain in the distance is known as "The Watchman" the

common iconic view of this mountain and river most often is shot from

the bridge, I was further upstream, wanted more river in the scene. As

the dawn broke I was glad I had chosen this area for my shot.

Thank you for your time and thoughts.

Is a nice moment of the day caught with this light and horizon color,I like your position did for this composition, water soft shine with a bit of red reflection is just enough to have a balance with left and right side, and of course the majestic mountain in bg that is like invite us to see more, untouched nature and must be saw long time from now.

I am glad to see you posted this again after some initial adjustments.

You have certainly managed a more even light with greater detail even in the shadowed areas.  I thought that it might have lost the sense of "morning time" if you made it too bright, but all credit to you, it has been handled with subtlety and care.

A lovely scene with beautiful colours, and its good to hear you chose a different perspective than the conventional one.

Compliments & Best Regards

Breathtaking image - I love the warmth and the clarity especially when you view this larger.

I remember a winter shot I had taken a couple of years ago when Alf asked me why did I cut the top of tree and at that time, I had a good rational due to physical limitations and other artistic reasons but all subsequent images I made, it was in my mind when I was making compositional decisions.

Would a portrait mode panorama have made a difference to your decision making here? I suppose it is a rhetorical question but food for thought.

You are a very good photographer but we as photographers live in a subjective world bound by cultural and other influences when it comes to appreciating and assessing images. Keep up the good work and I sincerely look forward to your new photographs here at photo.net.

All the very best,

By looking at your excellent work, I know I should try it down the bridge and by the river next time.  We always stood on the bridge.  Very good and impressive.  Smooth and silky river flow brings our eye to the well lighted Watchman.  Excellent design.  Best Regards,
