Very cute and taken with your usual attention to sharpness and detail.

I just pulled the image over to the left of my screen to effectively crop most of the flowers to leave an almost square, and the bird does seem to feature more prominently, although the overall balance seems better on the original.

Just a thought : - )

Very nice work Phil!

Best Regards

Thank you so much for your thoughts Alf!  You always have such a good ideas for my images.  I really appreciate hearing from you.  I understand what you are saying about the option to feature the bird a little more.  I usually have birds on bare branches.  Not something you need to highlight.  In this case I liked the flowers on what I believe is a coyote bush, so I was wanting to feature them with the bird.  Thanks again for your valuable input.

Hi Phil,

Another excellent example of why I teach others to shoot wide open, especially when they own fine lens like the Canon L series or Nikon ED series lens.

The 400mm F/5.6 l is a fine lightweight telephoto lens that is a great choice for imaging birds.

Best Regards, Mike

This is a Bushtit that looks like he is feeding on the plant he is

perched on. In reality they eat mostly insects, so I guess he must

have found something in the flowers. Thanks for looking!

What a beautiful and High quality capture!

I wonder about higher iso to achive higher shutter speed and f/6.3...because of narrow DOF of 400 mm lens.

sometimes focus goes on the plant below a tiny bird...

Any way great result! well done!

Regards! Hanan
