Snow laden trees in woodland shadow

I have less access to wet darkrooms of late, so I've started to

explore camera raw and Adobe Lightroom. I've used Photoshop Elements,

and the GIMP with jpegs from point and shoot digital cameras or tiffs

from scanned negatives and transparencies somewhat to date. Much more

to learn with digital technology and software. Feedback will be

appreciated. Thanks.

I like the depth of the image looking beyond the snow canopy to the innermost tress, and the exposure looks good too with a good range of B & W tones. 

There is a great piece of software you might enjoy using "Nik Silver Efex Pro 2"  it comes as a plug in for adobe lightroom or a more expensive stand alone version.  But it has some interesting film effects too which may be of interest to you.
