I like this rural scene, especially with the background hills and trees that we often don't see in fields with baled hay (either rectangular or round), and the snow is also a nice touch.  The only thing I would suggest is to not shoot the nearest bale head-on, but rather to show it at an angle (e.g., just move a bit to the right so that the end of the rolled bale can also be seen, similar to the one on the far left).  Such a move would help me to more easily identify this as a bale, and I think it just enhances the aesthetics a bit.  This scene really tells me that summer is over and winter is about to roll in -- nice work.

Hi Stephen,

I'm glad that you like it. Actually it was taken from my car, because of the rain, so I didn't chose the angle. Nevertheless I think you're right, I keep this in mind for further shots.

I made a crop and this was before reading Stephen's comment.  It is very important to know that when I do something like this I am NOT saying that mine is better - it is just to show another possibility. And then you decide.

Tony,

Your cropping lets my photo reach the result I was looking for, with a front view of the bales. Thank you, then, for your suggestion. Anyway, Stephen and Sidsel's point of view give me other composition ideas, I'll try and come back soon with new shots of this place. Hope that it will snow again....
