jyfoto 1 Posted December 31, 2012 Excellent portrait capturing the piercing engagement of her eyes with the viewer. Very nicely framed by her shawl and its color nicely complements both her eye color and her beautiful skin tone! Very well photographed - enjoyed viewing! Link to comment

benjamin_kim 0 Posted January 2, 2013 Hi Alain, another absolutely wonderful portrait. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this was "Afghan Girl" by Steven McCurry! Perfectly executed with razor sharp focus on the eyes. If I had to experiment with this I might try a very large aperture lens like an f1.4 or maybe even f1.2, focus on the eyes and see how much blur I could get out of the shawl. Might make for an interesting shot, might not... worth a try. Congratulations and well done! Link to comment
JohnWebster 3 Posted January 2, 2013 Good composition and use of space. A simple, yet piercingly beautiful portrait. Good color and an interesting texture contrast between her face and the fabric of the wrap. Link to comment

BelaMolnar 2 Posted January 6, 2015 I seeing this composition and set up all ready a couple of time, since the famous image of an Afghan (?) girl, refuge, in the National Geography magazine. So far I haw seen one, a very good shoot and this is the second I like it very much. The model with the brown eye, the scarf, perfect color for the face and the eyes, it is excellent. You find the right combination. Somehow, I like the square catch light in the eyes too. Very nice and warm portrait. At-list, she don't have the fear in her eyes as the Afghan girl has.Cheers.
