Hi Warren, Very nice image!

I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope 2013 year will be much better for you!

How are you? Did you get back to your house? Gail told me about you.  I'm very sorry for the storm Sandy which destroyed your house. I do not even know what to say and how to help and I do not know how I could contact, nothing comes to my mind. I was trying to be a volunteer but believe it or not it did not work out. I don't know why?

My friend's two cousins had a houses in Sea Gate. Sandy swept away all their houses and left nothing only memories remained as a dream, very, very sad.

Sincerely, Tina

This one is strong in every respect, in my opinion.  The composition is superb, as is the variety of color and texture.   It's cool how the simplicity of the bridges structure creates and organic whole with the rest of the frame.

On another note, it totally slipped my mind that you live in Long Island.  My hopes are prayers are with you and your family in dealing with the aftermath of the storm.  I'm a veteran of quite a few hurricanes, but none of them came even close to Sandy.  I echo Tina's sentiments for you and your family to fare much better in 2013.

My best,

michael

Thanks Tina and Michael for your kind thoughts. As some of my previous photos have shown, I live on an inlet of the Atlantic on the South Shore of LI. Alas, we did not escape the wrath of Sandy. The storm surge put 12" of water on the first floor of my house. The basement was totally flooded. I've been out of my house for 2 months now but I am fortunate to be living in a relative's very large house and we are quite comfortable. The entire first floor..kitchen and appliances, furniture, carpeting etc are gone. The walls had to be removed because of mold. Its all being put back together again and I think we'll be back home in February. I have flood insurance but I don't know how much they'll pay yet. I've lived in that house 31 years and this is the first time we got water in the house, including when the infamous Perfect Storm hit back in 1991(?)

We are okay. I know some who have lost everything! So, although I don't call myself lucky here, I was more fortunate than thousands upon thousands of others.

Thanks again for your good wishes!

Beautifully composed and coloured. Very well balanced also in order to capture the details of the bridge, bravo.

Have a wonderful New Year my friend,  John
