More Rural Decay

This is absolutely perfect.  Tones and framing are just right.  There is dignity in decay.

I like this image. But the composition is of balance a little. Portrait, house, etc.,  front face not supposed to look out of the frame, it supposed to look in, or stay in. With other world, the right side space is to mach and the left is to close to the front of the building. The opposite what you did, would be the proper composition. The black sky a little to mach, I would decrease the blackness a stop. IMHO. Otherwise it is a nice image.

Bela, all of our brains see differently. I have never worried too much about rules, but I understand your suggestions. For me, it is more important to have the complete shadow of the building on the right in order for the image to have movement (flow) to it. It has never bothered me that the subject of my portrait is looking out of the frame. I think that says something important about the interaction between the individual and me and in this case the old garage and me. I have other images of the building framed the way you suggest, but I like the other worldly quality this image has and it would not have that without the black sky. Again, thank you so much for showing me your suggestions. I often do the same to get my point across in my critiques.
