The problems with this photo are that, there is neither a shadow nor a reflection of the girl or her hair in the mirror.

Very interesting image! after I've learnt how you did it (more or less what I thought), I still think it's interesting. It's the idea & excution that makes it interesting. TFS!

It's clever and it's funny and it's well composed. How did the photographer do it? However he did it, I am impressed.

The typical gag photo holds my attention for about 30 seconds. I can keep going back to this photo repeatedly. I love the expression on the girl's face. I love the way her hair fans out. I love the way she is holding the blower. This is great comedy. It sticks.

Outside of that, the colors are well coordinated and the clutter in the foreground and background is just right. The f64 principle is in place and working well. A lot of out of focus glop would have killed this image.
There is nothing I would change in this image.

Braxton: Congratulations on the P.O.W. It's quite well deserved. The subject's facial expression and body position are amazingly expressive, ranging from her bulging eyes to her furrowed brow to her horizontally positioned hair.
My best,
michael

The expression and lighting are very well done. This is one of those photos that you want to click on larger for even more impact. Well done.

Braxton,
It's a very hilarious image. I like it very much and question myself how did he do it. The only flaw in my humble opinion is that the image is a bit overcrowded with all sorts of details. There are to many distracting elements visible.
Kind regards
Herman

But life is often cluttered .. only photographers create simplicity?
Brilliant piece of work though I wonder if there should not be a bit of reflected leg in the mirror, cannot quite work out the angle.
If only power cords were long enough the airlines would be put out of business.

Exquisite concept and execution. I think the background is a bit busy, but I really hesitate to suggest the artist tinker with what I consider a masterpiece as-is.

To me, the humor seems a little forced. As a matter of fact, what's funny about the picture other than the girl's expression, which is priceless? But she could be sitting down at the dinner table and that face would still be funny. Also, the illusion isn't very effective: since there's no difference in depth of field throughout the picture, you don't even for a second think that the girl wasn't pasted in. Fantastic job masking the hair, if that's what was done.

The virtue of the clutter is that it is ordinary humdrum clutter. This is a nice contrast to the girl.

I suppose the girl was pasted in. It was done well.

This one photograph I would not mind put up on somewhere in my home. It was not be bad to see it first thing in the morning.

It's well made, but the contradiction in scale ruins the illusion for me - the distance from the power cord to the background lamp on the left can't be more than 4 feet.

Hi all,
I'm the guy who made this, so I wanted to address some of your critiques just to clarify things and maybe satisfy some curiosity.
1. The power cord isn't plugged into the same outlet as the lamp. There's another outlet just out of the frame to the right. If the camera was moved an inch to the right you would be able to see the wall. I left it out so the room would look bigger.
2. I agree that the bathroom is too cluttered. The more that I've looked at it, the less it has bothered me. I booked this location in a wealthy guy's house without previewing because the room was purported to be very large (which ended up to be untrue), and when I saw it I was very concerned that it was too busy for the image. But, since I was already there, I just went for it. I actually removed some of the clutter in post, so there was even more than this, including a chandalier.
3. I love all the comments about her being pasted! She is absolutely where you see her, and there were no reflections in the mirrors except for a reflection of my sister holding the leaf blower, which I removed.
4. I very much appreciate all the comments and being selected. I hope you enjoy this and my other images. You can see the before and after (retouching) shots on my website. Braxton Bruce Photography.
Happy viewing.

She wasn't pasted in?! So much for my powers of observation. Very interested in seeing the before and after pictures when I get the chance.
