I rated this one earlier but did not have a chance to comment. I really love your black and white tones (I have not done much black and white). I especially like your chosen POV here. The buildings are most interesting and the one up ahead looks most charming, I imagine this would be lovely in colour also Ulla !!!

Dear Gail,

Thank you for a very nice comment, I love it. I did try to do this photo in color, but as the sky is in very sad gray and the sun was just a bit too strong (taken in the middle of a day again :(), I found it a bit too dull. I worked on it for an hour but then I just turned it into BW. The effect is much stronger. To tell you the truth the photo was taken just as I noticed that the carriage is passing me by so it's not really prepared, but I noticed that a lot of the best photos are taken in a moment, in a whim. Just an idea, how would it look like, and you press the trigger.

And you have right I just love this old places in town with a lot of history like Brugge, the old cafes are full of nostalgia and charm.

Love, Ulla

Great shot, Ulla! Looks very much like an old film picture would. I think it is b&w makes it look like that, hiding away some modern details , like the way people are dressed, some sighns, etc. Love Europe for the places like that.

All the best, Tamara

@Tamara: Thank you for the very nice comment, I was going for the "old look", I even added a touch of yellow (just a shade).

Belgium has a lot of old places, Antwerpen and Gent are also very very nice, but Brugge is a bit special. I do have to visit the Ardens tho, they are supposed to be sooo beautiful.

@Wayne: Thank you so much for visiting my page and for a super comment. It's a great feeling when people love your photo and this makes me feel really special!

Nice street-bw result. I like the dynamics of the photo. It shows the everyday life of the pleasant town of Bruges, with people, tourists and the chariots. All this integrated into a beautiful urban architecture. Good work! Congratulations. Roldao (from Brazil)
