Donna Stavis 0 Posted May 3, 2012 I have a love for Jaffe. The part of this photo that I respond to is the center, ie the arch over the doorway, the metal latticed "window" on the door, and the open door leading out to a view of what looks like the ocean. The cross suggests this might be taken from the interior of a church, but the blue of the cross -- so positive and optimistic a color... in the back of my mind is a poem with this color of sky, signifying idyllic situation... was it a poem by Eliezer Steinberg--- did you study him? pnital 36 Posted May 3, 2012 I love Jaffa as well, there is a lot to see and express there. It has somthing belonging to all mono religions. There are in that area, churches, mosques and of course synagogues. As it is touching the sea ,it was a great blue photography point. ...I'm not familiar with E.S poems so If you feel like it, write it down here, and thanks ! wolfgangarnold 142 Posted May 3, 2012 recurring shapes (cross, arch) and alternating hues (bue and yellowish) along with increasing sharpness form a subtle but (or rahter: therefore) very strong beat that guides my eyes towards the sea outside. I love the composition. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted May 5, 2012 Pnina, admirable image. You have woven a magic and mystic web with colors and patterns. Love the shades of blue. Link to comment

alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted May 5, 2012 Good eye, Pnina. I'm thinking that this photo, as you posted it, must be pretty much how you shot it. It has geometry, abstract art, religious undertones and a healing color palate. Can't ask for more. Great job!Peace ~Alberta Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 6, 2012 Thanks, you know ,sometimes you plane the composition and sometimes it is simply "jumping" on your eye... this is the case ....;-)) Link to comment
3m 0 Posted May 6, 2012 I too like your vision and composition here, Pnina. Lovely array of shapes, lines, and (subdued) colors... Link to comment
tonyfrench 0 Posted May 7, 2012 Pnina, to me this is slightly reminiscent of the cutouts of Matisse, perhaps because of the color. I also like the quality of the soft blur in the foreground, as though it were shot through the panes of a window, and the view through the window/door to the sea and sky beyond. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted May 8, 2012 The travel from the soft focus of the foreground to the more corporeal lines of the door and grate and then back to the gentle line of the sea meeting the sky, all held together by recurring line and colour , makes for a wonderful visual journey. A soothing image. Link to comment

LindaM 2 Posted May 16, 2012 I am taken by the contrast between this cross and your black cross. Where the black cross appears ominous, this one is light and full of hope. Link to comment
gunnar1664882369 1 Posted May 19, 2012 The is a great concept to present main subject. As mentioned in other comments, the dof is strong and very interesting. Very good work, Pnina. Link to comment
