A late afternoon at Hornborgasjön I was enjoying the sunset. These

two beautiful Eurasian cranes came along. Your comments are most

welcome.

Wonderful detail and clarity. I think the soft evening light has allowed the colours to really be appreciated and you have achieved great sharpness at the same time. Lovely graceful formation too!

Best Regards

Hi Alf,

Thank you for your supporting comments. I entirely agree that the sunset and sunrise hours provide optimal conditions for birds in flight.

Best regards Per.

Hello Per,

I really like this one!  One feels as though one is flying with them.  The birds are sharp, the BG is OOF, and the sunset light is sweet. Compositionally, I would have liked a bit more room below the birds, since the lead bird is looking down.  That said, I do know how hard it is to get a perfect composition on birds in flight.

Well done!

Per,

Wonderful detail in the birds.  I looked at the larger version.  It's amazing you got them in that brown background.  If they had strayed into the boundries on either side, they wouldn't have stood out as well.  Very nice.

Per,

One more compositional thought on this terrific image:  You might try a slightly tighter crop...crop more off the top so the trailing bird's back has just a little room, and a little more off the right side, so there is more apparent space for the lead bird to fly into.  I noticed it seemed like a stronger image when I clicked on the photo to obtain the enlarged image, which resulted in the top and rightmost edges of the photo being off-screen (due to my smaller laptop screen size).  The birds are more than sharp enough to withstand the slight enlargement this would require.  Of course, this would result in a more elongated image.  Just a thought...in any case, it's an outstanding image.

Best regards, and I hope to see much more of your work here,

Dennis

Hi, Per, unusual visual angle, great DOF, crisp details in action, soft light, smooth contrast, nice warm tones, especially the diagonal bg. it's good for exquisite composition which makes subject more dynamic, love it!    Best regards   7!!

It is an excellent capture - 7 for sure! The details are stunning and the angle  ads to the whole wow-reaction.  Be careful with the cropping. As a viewer you need the background, the shadows to appreciate the unique perspective.

Virkelig flot arbejde! Og Per, tak for din fine kommentar.
