This is certainly a great attempt for a first time. Its a good subject for HDR and the perspective, colour and composition are good also. Of course it depends on what kind of effect you want to achieve when you process a HDR image, the tone mapping is capable of several looks, ranging from completely natural to "grunge" or totally surreal. Although I don't use HDR a great deal these days, when I do, I try to achieve a natural looking image whilst utilising the HDR to show details in shaded areas. This can be achieved by processing one of the RAW files naturally and using it as a layer in photoshop, revealing only the parts of the HDR that you want visible by using the erasor.  This  could do with a slight increase in contrast and shadows in the lower portions of the trees.  Very well done Rob! & Welcome to PN.

Best Regards

Alf
