Old fragile and barely holding itself together, the image gives the impression of an aged historical relic containing great wisdom and predictions for the future. I like the sepia treatment that accentuates the aged look and the artifact that looks like a cadle holder or lamp to the right. I wonder if it was possible to seperate the book from this more and also allow a bit more space to the left of the book whilst avoiding the dark shadow to the right of the frame? I think this would give the image a more isolated moody presence. But I do like this image very much as it is also.

Best Regards

I also like the sepia treatment Cosmin it really is effective at making the image appear even more dated. Very well presented image. Take care.

Nice work. The shading around the sides works with the tight crop and allows the composition to work beautifully.

The choice for sepia supports the subject and the overall theme of the photo - no doubt. Tight crop is a question of personal taste, I guess. Compliments!

An excellent composition! The book is very intriguing. Well worn, probably well read. The old lantern base reminds me very much of one I have. The choice of 'colour processing' as others have said does much to enhance the overall mood of the capture.

Warmest regards, Gail

I can only second what alredy mentioned here, great work with composition and tone, the dof is spot on.

Best regards Tore

They don't make them like they used to ! I doubt todays volumes would stand the test of time ! The toning was a good decision it accentuates the aging .Bill
