Yes, another wind turbine. I'm struck by the dissimilarity of this new man-

made object now in the world the moon has been circling for eons, both

seemingly looking at each other. I wanted to maintain the feeling of

approaching darkness as well as retain detail in the moon; I think the

exposure is fairly well balanced. Your comments and suggestions are

appreciated. Thanks.

Excellent and symbolical image. What is nature precise coincidence, the Moon rotating in synchrony with the Earth, and an exact distance from it,  to get  the  relative size of the Sun, and so, we haw an eclipse, time to time.

Cheers.

But Erik, this is late evening.  The sun has set and it is relatively dark.  Yes, I could make the turbine much lighter, but then night would be shown as day.  This is pretty close to how it looked to my eye.  Why does it need more light on the turbine?

Stephen you have captured this very well and i am sure this is pretty close to what you saw. I would have taken this one and for a 2nd or 3rd image I might have shifted position to get the moon closer to the blades to establish a stronger 'relation' - negative or positive, with the blades. This is all in the realm of artistic and what story you want to convey, etc. As I said, there is nothing wrong with the original.

Tony, that's a good point.  I do have several exposures on this and other photos where a blade is "skewering" the moon, but I haven't elected to post them, and I'm not sure that I will.

Erik, I see what you mean.  You had a very nice silhouette against some colorful sky.  I have colorful sky too, but it's behind me.  I do have a few shots taken in that direction, but this certainly isn't one of them.  I think my only hope with a full moon, considering that it is 180 degrees from a setting sun, would be to catch it the day before the full moon when the setting sun might be lighting up some clouds above or below the moon.  That did happen on this day or the day before (I can't remember which), but I was so engrossed in turbines rising out of the fog due north that I didn't even see the moon until it was well up -- my "mistake."  Still, I can find some amount of enjoyment of this photo, despite the lack of color and the limited light; it's a good depiction of the landscape at that hour.

Absolutely one of your best.  The moon is bright with the texture and the detail while we still see the giant fan.  Great work and very good composition.  Best Regards,
