Hi Kallol, Nice capture. For once it looks odd that the bird has only one leg. However it is common for birds to stand on one leg to conserve energy. My views..(though I know that my snaps are no where close to the quality of yours) .... possibly the background is too bright (sun light lit). Could this be modified through post processing?

BTW, I never get such sharp and clear images with 280 mm (Tamron 70-300mm) lens. What is the secret there?

Thanks,

Harsha.

Thanks Harsha for your comment.Actually the BG was so bright that I had to overexposed the shot by 2 stop to get some details of this tiny bird. Now I feel that may be 1 1/2 stop might be sufficient to get the exposure better looking.Regarding sharpness I personally feel that Nikkor 70-300mm VR lenses produce a littlte bit sharper image than Tamron 70-300mm with same ISO & Nikon D90 body at 300mm(both hand held) .So I feel the Nikkor 70-300mm VR lens is the secret. :-)

My best regards.

Actually I read the Harsha`s comment and I agree with one leg, also. But IMHO,the back ground is very nice and like a painting.I like the details and you done it as well as possible.Thnx for taking and sharing.Best regards(Bobby).

Nice shot with very good details & sharpness. The background bokeh is

good but the brightness needs to be toned down a bit.

Regards.

Nice contrast between the bright green background and the chestnut brown of the bird Kallol. The wire on the leftmost end betrays that the sun was out and the bird sitting in a patch of shade, so I'd probably crop that out and render the dark tones just a little bit brighter in the hope of emphasizing the juxtaposition of threatening barbs and fluffy feathers.

Fantastic capture, exacting details, beautiful detail in the plummage fo the bird and especially the beak and eyes.  Big plus I think that it was on the barbed wire fence. Truly a unique photo.

Congrats, a fine presentation! Tops from me Kallol, you certainly deserve itl!
