i re-processed this photo as suggested, to fix the vignetting. the big

empty space on the upper side is necessary in my opinion, so i didnt

cropped it out. comments welcome. if you rate low please explain.

Hi Zsolt. Appreciate it is easy to be an "armchair" observer and have the time to suggest. comments evenmore when we can adjust a work to those observations Verdict... 100%.. and because I cannot hang it framed in my study i will hang it in my favorites regards miken

Wonderful stark simplicty,  a desolate winter scene epitomised perfectly. There is a lot of empty space, but I think this is an essential element to convey the barren aspect of the landscape.

Well done!

I love the simplicity in this image.  The empty space provides a nice metaphor for loneliness and isolation, this is emphasized even further by the position of the tree in the image.  Nice work - michel

thanks again for the real feedback. i appreciate your comments.

still lots of very low ratings, from people with "below average" photos in portfolio, and not a single explanation why.

I didn't see the original, but I think this is excellent.  The form of the tree and the hint of something in the background are great elements.  The "empty" space above the tree is contributing much to the photo, as others have articulated.  Single-digit ratings are absolutely meaningless, IMO, which is why I no longer rate or ask for ratings.

thank you Stephen! maybe it is the best way as you do, so you can escape these guys who rate with closed eyes.
