Starscape - Ponta Malongane (dune)

Nicely controlled long exposure for the star trail and interesting foreground dertail too. Did you "light paint" the foreground or use some other form of natural illumination?

I've been trying to get a decent star-trail for a while (usually conditions are horrible i.e. clouds or rising moon etc.), and the amount of noise in the images was unbearable. So practice was hard, but i finally managed to get my method right to reduce noise.

I lit the foreground with a normal LED torch (light painted?), moving it accross the scene "stalling" on the plants.

Hopefully I'll have more starscapes to post quite soon (since i've got my method sorted out now) ;)
