kts 0 Posted April 16, 2011 the headstock almost looks fender but that doesn't look like their typical rosewood fretboard or cutaways Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted April 16, 2011 Thanks for the visit! It is a Fender Squire Standard Stratocaster and a bit unique for a Squire. It's one of the Indonesian crafted models, and a great player as well as the sound but I've simply got too many and need to thin them down a bit. Link to comment
Bill J Boyd 65,139 Posted April 17, 2011 Jim...this has great detail, composition, and color. I like how you have done it. Well done. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 17, 2011 Outstanding work my friend and the crop is well thought off, there is no need for more to show what this instrument is, you also mastered the lighting here and obtained all of the fine detail, the original colors are of great credit to the high quality of this capture and the background color well separated the main subject, I also like the framing work here, it is a superb add to the composition of this remarkable image. Thank you for sharing it my friend and wishing you all of the best. Link to comment
kts 0 Posted April 17, 2011 i know what you mean Jim....i sold most of my guitars and basses over the last 2 years as well.... now down to one electric and one acoustic....basically took the money from one hobby and poured it into another.....lol Link to comment
dave_w11 0 Posted April 21, 2011 most said what i thought but i didnt see any mention the shadow that really finishes the photo for me almost looks like a continuation of the guitar great shot Dave Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted April 21, 2011 Yeah I do like the composition with the guitar passing through the shadow of the headstock, Fender Stratocaster maybe?..., though it was normal for the strap pin to be positioned on the left wing, so maybe copy, ahhh I have just read above ok that explains it. I did have one of the very early Mexican squires, great sound, stick to my Gibson SG these days, but alas music has taken a back seat since photography took over : - )I like the simplicity of the image and the choice of background too. Nice work JimBest RegardsAlf Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted April 21, 2011 Thanks for taking the time to look and comment. Yes, what made me decide to post these was the shadow's of the headstocks that I found interesting, thus I made these crops of the originals. Alf, the strap pin is not showing because I replaced them with a flush mounted Dunlop Strap Lock. Like Thom, I'm having to thin them out a bit! Again, thanks to you all,Cheers,Jim j. Link to comment
steveshinn 0 Posted April 27, 2011 Very nice work Jim. I wonder if moving the shadow (nice composition) up the neck with a lower lighting angle would bring it out better. Too bad we can't embed music on these images.... :-) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 27, 2011 The fender is nice indeed. I think I need to say a bit about the shot and not the fantastic craftsmanship and beauty of the guitar I like the tone of the shot and the way the shot shadown lays on top of the guitar that is what kicks for me... Thanks Jim... Link to comment
