hamidfarzandian 0 Posted April 11, 2011 Welcome to street photography!...which seems be a master in that also! Impressive street capture, with nice wide angle view, clever selection of its elements, and very inspiring mono-conversion. I like it so much, as much as your matsterful landscapes. Bravo.Hamid. Not Here 93 Posted April 11, 2011 Alf... Great timing and excellent title. So, athletic shoes aren't just for athletes... Mike Link to comment
tonyfrench 0 Posted April 12, 2011 Alf, I like the expanse of the scene with the bend of the road/buildings and their soft tones. The focus of the scene works well with the man on his way up or down from his knee. The elder woman seems perhaps uninterested or more interested in something off the way. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted April 12, 2011 On bended knee. Perfectly captured and the birds in the sky is the philly cheese lemon cinamon (daubs of strawberry) icing. Link to comment
sarah_mcnulty 5 Posted April 12, 2011 Hi Alf,Brilliantly timed and captured! Think it really funny that the lady in the wheelchair is totally uninterested in her subject! You have the knack for street photography also, hope you keep it going.Best regards. sarah Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted April 12, 2011 ALBERTOMany Thanks, I'm very pleased you liked it!Best WishesAlfPIERREI'm beginning to enjoy street photography almost as much as I enjoy your surreal visions. Sincere Thanks!AlfMAURIZIOMany Thanks for your interest and kind words, much appreciated!RegardsAlfKAUSHIKSincere thanks for stopping by, just by way of an explanation, the guy kneeling down was taking a photograph of the group, but such was his kneeling position and the uninterested expression of the elderly lady, it kind of reminded me of Queen Victoria being bowed to...hence the title.Warm RegardsAlfPATSY I'm very pleased you like it. Thank You!Warm RegardsAlfHAMIDI don't know about being a master.........I am just taking a few very hesitant first steps, I think I have a lot to learn yet my friend, but my sincere thanks for your vote of confidence, it really is very much appreciated!Best RegardsAlfESBENSincere Thanks for sharing your thoughts, much appreciated!Best RegardsAlfMIKEMany Thanks for your supportive comments and observations........no it would appear athletic shoes are not just for athletes, much like boxer shorts are not just for boxers, and sweat shirts are not just for sweaty people : - ) lolCheers Mike!AlfTONY FI'm glad you mentioned the road / buildings as they are part of the LLandudno victorian promenade and seem to be in keeping with the image. The man is on his way up after taking thier photograph, but the scene gave me the distinct impression of a loyal subject paying tribute to Queen Victoria, (the elderly lady) her haughty countenance a legendary disposition. Many Thanks and Best RegardsAlfTONY H I think you must have been hungry when you wrote that one : - ) But I like your sentiments, and they are very much appreciated!Best RegardsAlfSARAHI agree, the expression of complete indifference from the elderly lady I thought was quite funny also, kind of reminds me of the quotation attributed to Queen Victoria " We are not amused" Sincere thanks for your encouragement Sarah, it really is appreciated!Best RegardsAlfRICHARD Many Thanks for your positive feedback, it's quite tricky this street photography, I probably missed more shots than I captured, but managed to get this one just before he got up from the kneeling position.Best RegardsAlfRAJATI never quite thought of it in terms of landscape as well as street, but now you come to mention it, the surroundings do play a part in this.Sincere thanks!Alf Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted April 13, 2011 THE WAY YOU HAVE MADE THE BUILDINGS WRAP AROUND THE WAY THEY DO GIVES THE PHOTO A CLOSENESS A CONNECTION TO THE PEOPLE.. NICELY DONE TAKE CARE SAM Link to comment
swede621 0 Posted April 13, 2011 Love it !! Seems you just have the knack for this camera thing we do. I had to look closely and read the comments to determine that she was indeed not part of the royal family. Seems like a good candidate for a contest entry.Cheers... Link to comment
newland 0 Posted April 14, 2011 A wonderful b/w image, and with a great title to Alf... Take care regards Grant.... Link to comment
tibig 0 Posted April 14, 2011 Great shot, Alf. It has both strong emotional content and well balanced composition. Of course one can speak about the decisive moment (but I'm afraid all about that has been said many times). And even so it is so much easier said than done. But certainly you did it!Regards, Tibi Link to comment

alfbailey 3 Posted April 15, 2011 LESTER Many thanks for stopping by Lester, and for your encouraging words, much appreciated!Best RegardsAlfSAMMESincere thanks for sharing your thoughts and positive feedback, much appreciated!I never really thought of the building wrapping round them as you aptly described, but now you come to mention it I can see what you mean. The buildings are Victorian, and as the subject has a distinctly Queen Victoria aura, they kind of comppliment one another.Cheers Samme!AlfJERRY I'm really pleased you liked it. Yeah I'm getting the knack Jerry, still very much a learner though. The beauty of photography is that the depth of knowledge is so great, that it's vitually impossible to know everything.Yeah she has quite a regal countenance Jerry, but not actually of Royal descent, or not that I know of! It is one that I'm considering for inclusion in a contest too, but just waiting for them to announce the right category.Sincere thanks for your interest and positive feedback Jerry.Cheers mate!Alf GRANT Many thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts, much appreciated!Best RegardsAlfTIBIThank you for your well considered thoughts, much appreciated! I must say I'm enjoying street photography much more than I ever thought I would. I used the 70 - 300mm Tamron for this shot which is of course quite a large conspicuous lens, so I took a seat on a inconspicuous bench and kind made out I was taking photo's of the sea front etc. It seemed to work. But maybe I'll try my 50mm prime lens next outing.....its a bit more discreet. Cheers!AlfANABELAMany thanks for your visit and kind words, much appreciated!AlfILKKASincere ThanksRegardsAlf Link to comment
