Sincere Thanks for your interest and positive feedback. The colours are something of a mystery, I took the shot whilst I was stood in the shadow of the nearby hills at late afternoon, and whilst I changed the WB slightly in processing I didn't make any other adjustments to the colour. But it seems to have worked.

Cheers Jim

The almost mirror-like reflection of this wonderful landscape is really an eye-catcher. Excellently composed, tones are so attractive and the line created by the trees keeps me glued to the image. Beautiful photograph, Alf. Best regards! - Lester

Another stunning composition conforming to your preferred theme of water-land-mountain. Its simple and beautiful in a zen like manner. 7/7 and best wishes - Sekhar

Sincere Thanks for your interest and very thoughtful feedback, much appreciated! It was the strange looking shapes of the pine trees that first attracted my attention and of course that reflection, it was a shame it didn't last long, the wind came from no where and I had to wait for a long time before it settled down again.

Cheers Lester!

RICHARD

Many thanks for stopping by. This was one of those incidental shots, one that I hadn't really considered with as much thought as I generally apply to my shots, and certainly not my main objective. It was a kind of spur of the moment shot that come from a glance to the side and a thought of "I just  have to get a shot of those trees" ......Thanks again Richard

I feel guilty not to visit your beauties more often. This is a gorgeous image. Today I am having a feast with your beautiful Art.  Warm regards from Miami my friend.

I haven't been on PN much lately, but I do check in on some of my favorite photographers (that would be you) even now and then.  :-)  Somehow I missed this one though.  It's quite spectacular!  Is this the same lake you shot in your image 'Dreams of Tranquility'?  It looks like it, but I could be wrong.  The colorations are so different, yet each looks so natural.  The pastel colors really make this a stand-out though.  And I love the composition with the tree line and its reflection forming a triangle, culminating on the right margin.  I'm certainly glad you took another look at this one before hitting the delete button!

Its good to hear from you, I know how busy you are, so I'm very honoured that you consider me a "favourite photographer"  :- )

Yes you are quite right this is exactly the same location as "Dreams of Tranquility" I have quite a few more shots from the same session, but I'm a bit reluctant to post them as I don't like to be too repetetive. There again I just have been repetetive with my lighthouse images, so maybe its time to post another "Buttermere" image. Just out of interest the word "mere" means lake in certain parts of the UK (We have such a complex language with infinately variable idiosnycracsies for each of the multiple dialects, its a wonder that even we understand it)

This one was taken just a few yards from where I parked the car, a 20 minute walk later, and the light and wind had changed dramatically and I had to wait another hour for the wind to drop again, hence the colour differences.

Sincere thanks for your interest and positive feedback Christal, much appreciated!

Best Regards

Alf
