I like this image a lot, a place like this and under such climatical condition is not easy to lit the way you did, even taken the time to work out the sort of camera set up and positioning your self is too hard also, well done for the balanced exposure value and also for the choice of DOF where the details obtained are of very fine nature all over the frame work, the contrast and tone here are of very high quality again and the image presented in such a way to superbly communicate with its viewers.

Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

I like to shoot straight and this is a superb image - perfect for a sale to Hallmark. My sincere congratulations. The framing, the depth and the perfectly rendered snow all add up to a very appealing image. Congrats,

Thank you for your visit and your comment Rashed, it was snowing while this was being taken, by using 5 images and HDR pro in Photoshop I was able to get a wide range of tone with white snow and yet lots of detail in the trees.

Nice to hear from you Tony, I'm glad you like this image.  I tend to process my HDR images multiple times with the intent of producing an image that is hopefully as photorealistic as possible.

I wouldn't have guessed this was HDR if I hadn't read your comments above. HDR has a place in landscapes, but a subtle place like the one portrayed here. I think perhaps thats the hallmark of a great HDR, in a landscape enviroment at least. I love the composiiton here and the evident layers of ice and snow within the stream.

Very well done Jim.

Sincere compliments.

Very beautiful Jim...looks cold and crisp. I like the detail you have managed to get in those trees and the snow is well captured. I would have never guessed that this was HDR...beautiful pp work and I agree it is greeting card perfect!

Warmest regards, Pamela

Jim...  What I call the perfect HDR - one where you can't tell that it is one!  A superb image in every respect... Mike

At first sight it looked that a piece is missing in this giant jigsaw puzzle...that's what took my attention - independent of all te technical qualities. Compliments!

A lovely winter shot.  Heavy snow laden trees hang over  the river, as the water swiftly flows underneath the ice and snow.  Well done Jim, very impressive shot.  Sincere regards, Gail
