I would not crop anything because it is all part of a wonderful composition: the guarding dog and the guarded property. He stands on duty, faithfully.

Great Shot! Love the attentive look he is is giving to something in the distance, I love your whole Dog folder, sometimes they are the best models, aren't they. My Golden Retriever is featured throughout my portfolio.

Looks like you might have had a little bit of shiny snow reflection on the pup's coat but you did a good job minimizing it. snow can present a lighting, contrast and hue challenge but it's one of my favorite things to photograph.
