Thanks! Not really - we have the very occasional tremor, but 4.0 is about as bad as it gets. These houses were built in the 1600s and typical of their period.

Nice shot, I like the rippled effect an the colours of the umbrella add to the impact. Nice work !

What also attracted me to your shot is that you live in Melbourne, Derbyshire.  I have an aunt, uncle and many cousins, etc who live in that village.  We visited it again from Auckland, New Zealand, for the wedding of the daughter of a cousin last year.  Lovely little village !

An unusual and therefore very original combination of 17th Century Architecture and street photography, the motion blur and rain drops are essential elements that express the atmosphere and make this image work.

Thanks to all who have commented so far. I posted this image as a example of the fact that 'your camera does not matter'. This was taken on a Canon Powershot 570is compact picked up on a well known auction site for 55ukp.
