gsaphoto 2 Posted October 3, 2010 Hi Roger. You make it by your own and unique way. Some mysterious and philosophical representation... Or, maybe you just playing around with different effects. But any way, original and interesting work. Also, thank you for your generous critiques and review on most of my recent works. With all my best,Grigoriy Link to comment
drorbaldinger 0 Posted October 5, 2010 very unusual and therefore unique and unexpected.the unexpected ghostly quality is what I like here.a hint of focus, not on the bright element in the image, as one would expect, but rather in the dark element. the bright element to which we are naturally drawn to and expect to be in focus, is blurred. but this is where the "punch" is, in the haunting, detail-less quality of the rose.this is unusual rendition of a rose.very beautiful. i use the word "sophisticated" very sparingly, but here i will use it freely.well done, roger. ifti 1 Posted October 11, 2010 I have no clue how you processed this one but the outcome is artistic. Brighter flower placed off center a thin stem and a darker leaf balances the picture. Well done, Regards, ifti. Link to comment
stanislav 0 Posted October 11, 2010 Roger, this is another amazing image of yours. I have nothing to add to Drors description, he hit the nail on the head. I see that you used your break to gather some amazing ideas and put them to life. Really hope the series will continue! Warm regards, Stanislav Link to comment
bettiecl 0 Posted October 19, 2010 ... and mysterious.... and all the beautiful things already said above. Thanks to Dror, for pointing out the marvelous shift if focus to the shadowed area! Ive learnt something new again. Toast to you Roger, for providing the source for a stimulating discussion. :-) Link to comment
bertr 0 Posted October 20, 2010 The soft focus of this rose gives it an almost mysterious look. well done roger... come and visit sometimeBert Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted October 23, 2010 There are many great flower photo's on this site, but not so many very original ones. The luminous pearlescent quality of this rose is quite extraordinary, particularly as it still retains that quality in B &W. The single leaf textures contrast nicely and accentuate the soft light of the rose even further.Sincere ComplimentsAlf Link to comment
daveinwilton 1 Posted November 7, 2010 Roger, what more can I add? An original, cleaver, and captivating piece, which has already been stated above, but I feel I must chime in. Best regards...-Dave Link to comment
gardena 0 Posted November 13, 2010 Roger, haven't seen you a round or awhile. Hope all is well. How was the Leonard Cohen concert? I did have an LP of his once but doubt I could put my hand on it now! I could play it though as my husband has a record player. Hope summer is coming your way. Cheers, Adrienne Link to comment
