miles_hecker 0 Posted September 19, 2010 This looks like an HDR image of a rather nice dune.Normally I don't like HDR images, but in this case I do. The light brings the viewer into the image without being "over the top" as they say. Well done! Link to comment
tanni_thai 0 Posted September 19, 2010 Hi Miles - This is not an HDR image as I don't know how to do it myself :). I did a tonal contrast with an added brightness/contrast only. Thanks Link to comment
wade_youngblood 0 Posted September 19, 2010 Tanni, I like this version much better! I think it really allows the viewer to yield their full attention to the grandeur of the landscape. This image also appears slightly more saturated than the other. I like the more golden color of the sand in this image, but the sky is almost turning purple in the upper left corner, where it was a nice dark grey in the other image. Not that that is bad, but I did like the very pure grey of the sky in the other image. The other thing that the enhanced saturation and contrast of this image has emphasized is what appears to be some red chromatic aberration tinging the blowing sand at the top left of the dune. This was slightly evident in the other image, but it is definitely more apparent here. If you have photoshop, you should be able to correct for this very easily in the "lens corrections" tab of cameraRAW.All technical talk aside, I think this is an absolutely gorgeous image, one you should be proud of! Excellent work. Wade Link to comment

john_pavlakis 0 Posted September 20, 2010 HDR is frequently boring, played out and even annoying. In this case, it is vital. LOVE THIS. Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 503 Posted September 20, 2010 very nice image , I like the golden color and the sand blown up from the wind in the top, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
ArtLionse 0 Posted September 20, 2010 Excellent! 7This is a stunning capture, one is hypnotized by the contratsed colors, the shapes, the undulations and dark clouds. The eye is driven to the sand cloud merging with shy, then goes down the hill and starts again from foreground! Link to comment

marc_dilley1 0 Posted September 20, 2010 There IS something hyper realistic and dreamlike going on here but I can't quite get it. It might be the dark sky and bright sand; there aren't a whole of midtones here. And yet it doesn't have a "soot and chalk" look about it. Link to comment
