Guest Guest Posted September 10, 2010 Remarkable portrait work my friend.Amazing light here and of very powerful details, the eyes tells many stories and at the same time very atractive. The model so beautiful while the tone here is very impressive and so the shallow DOF given the wonderful subject to background isolation.Thank you my friend for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. gsaphoto 2 Posted September 12, 2010 Excellent casual portrait. I like composition, tone, nice and soft background that pop her out of frame. One more -- excellent! 7/7 Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted September 13, 2010 This image captivates me. She has a unique expression which seems sullen, mysterious and needy all at once. I love the tones and the wind blown hair. I need to study this more, so it'll go in "my favorites" for sure. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted September 13, 2010 Bob,Interesting -- she is a hybrid? I'm not real sure I want to know what this is. Whatever she is, she is indeed a beautiful girl. Her skin tone is very good. I like her expression and she has good eye contact with the camera (viewer). The soft lighting on her face looks very nice. You have done a very good job of allowing her hair to look windblown, but not falling across her eyes or much of her face. It looks very natural. The background is nicely out of focus and she is quite well separated from it.Her hair looks very sharp, but her eyes do not look as sharp as they could be. She could really use catch lights to give more life to her eyes. A little eyeliner under her eyes would help to make them stand out more, too.She has dark circles under her eyes. Those could be softened.Be careful of her posture. She appears to be leaning in. She should be standing up straight with her shoulders back and her chest out.Do not pose your subject straight on to the camera. This is not a very feminine pose. Showing your subject’s widest areas (shoulder to shoulder or hip to hip) makes those areas appear wide. Your subject will appear thinner and more feminine, graceful and elegant if turned at an angle to the camera. The lines you see from an angle have more apparent motion, interest and grace. It appears you may be trying to use the rule of thirds to position your subject within the frame. This can work very nicely if there is something within the photograph to balance her face being off to the side. This image looks very right heavy. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph. This little rule almost always works well. You have a merger (two things are just touching each other) with the bottom of the frame and the neckline of her top. It will look better if you crop down a little and show more of her top.You could burn in the bright areas in the background a tad. This would make her stand out even more. I would tone down the highlight on her right shoulder a little, too.Nice shot,Mark Link to comment

starvy 7 Posted September 15, 2010 The light is wonderful as is your composition and post-processing. I love the near neutrality in saturation. The skin-tone feels just right. Link to comment
