kdrews 0 Posted September 4, 2010 A stunningly beautiful image, nice composition, and wonderful light. Your sloping horizon line bothers me a bit, but well done otherwise. Love the lone tree & sky. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted September 4, 2010 A creative image that is totally open to 'personal interpretation', as all our tribulations differ. Yet perhaps in 'this place' everyone will see out of similar 'eyes'. Your efforts in putting this creation together were well worth it Art. I see a place of Desolation, devoid of HOPE, LIFE, - although we see the sky with light coming through unaturally colored clouds, is it a 'light' that is 'safe'? The stark, tree, similar to a Curly Willow or Corkscrew is not in a place it would natrually be. Yet it is there, Solitary....could it be symbolic of 'each individual'??? Bent over, limbs warped, back almost broken, or is it a posture of 'humility'. There is no place to walk that is not hazardous, the horizon line does not trouble me too much as I don't expect anything at this 'cape' to be normal to the human eye.All that was once 'normal' is now gone. I could be wrong but there appears to be a shape very similar to a young boy's toy truck in the bottom right corner. The only sign of humanity. Not so long ago, humans were in this place. Could this be a 'Sign of Things to Come'????As always you provide us with an image that makes us think, question, and attempt to interprete. Effective enough that I KNOW I would not enjoy visiting this place. nor dwell here for any period of time. Well done Art! Sincerely, Gail Link to comment
anne_s3 0 Posted September 4, 2010 Warm, inviting and then also chilly and eerie. A great dramatic mood in addition to the wonderful light, color, clarity and depth. A place of trials and tribulations, perhaps. But the tree - although weathered and bent over - is still standing. Great message as well- or at least that's what I take from it. All the best, Anne. Art X Photography 1 Posted September 4, 2010 Thanks everyone for your comments and ratings. Your continued support is much appreciatedDrew, I agree with your assessment of the sloping horizon. Believe it or not I have corrected it a lot from the original image. Gail and Anne, I like your interpretation of this image. Thoughtful and insightful comments. Thank you. Pedro, thank you for your comments to back up your rating. I appreciate your assessment and would also appreciate any further insight or example of "over processing and unnatural" feel you see in this image to help improve it. Link to comment
