This is so wierdly colorful and absurdly bizarre, it seems like some sort of giant tropical insect just hanging out to be discovered and documented by intrepid explorers such as yourself. It must be pretty common in those parts because none of the natives in the background seem  at all surprised by its presence.

It's deliciously incongruous. I like the colors very much Linda and the location of the people in the 3 segments of the images.

Thank you Adan, Jack and Laurent. This is at the Cadillac Ranch just outside Amarillo, Texas. These old relics have layers of spray paint, literally inches deep. You can see the cars from I-40 if you are looking for them. We stopped here twice. Once on our way to Arizona, and again on the way back, armed with our own cans of spray paint.

So everybody gets the chance to be a graffito without legal consequences? How cool. I know this is some sort of personality problem, but I keep wondering why they don't throw the empty cans away. At any rate, that sucker is just about beyond recognition.

David, I agree with you about the cans. We didn't use all of our paint, so we gave what we had left to some paintless families with children. Hopefully they took the cans out with them. Somebody must clean them up regularly as I don't think there were as many cans on the ground when we stopped on our return trip.

I've read about this place and always wanted to go there! Looks like a LOT of other people did too!!!!

Jeanne, Yeah, a lot of other people there. There was a steady stream of people both times we stopped.
