anthonypierce 0 Posted August 17, 2006 :) :) :) Love the red pops. It wouldn't have been the same without the consistency!! Plus, they're all wearing earth tones against a white background. Nice job!! Link to comment
graneenie 571 Posted August 17, 2006 I'm thinking those earth tones they are wearing are due to mud or chocolate pudding!!! Wonderful shot that really depicts childhood! Link to comment
sully 0 Posted September 7, 2006 This is my kind of photo. I love the variety of poses and facial expressions. The photo has a consistent flow with the repeating reds, earth tone clothes and dirt. Link to comment
jasonwilliamsphotography 0 Posted September 11, 2006 Wonderful shot, this I think would also look neat in b/w with the popsicles still red. Excellent composition and light, great expressions! Link to comment
amilarakis 0 Posted September 13, 2006 What a wonderful child photo ? A photo with excellent composition, you catch the beautiful momet. Congrats ! Link to comment
juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted September 22, 2006 I can see your excitement at seeing this shot...not wanting to let it get away...the reason for the slight blur...no worries. You captured the feeling... the memory. Although I am a big fan of turning to B&W then coloring in like Jason mentioned above...this is a classic jeez like it is...Juan Link to comment
kcole 0 Posted April 29, 2007 This is great! I can remeber a time or two when me and my sisters were kids looking just like this:) This image and your portfolio show some"real"images, full of warmth and emotion, great job! Cole Link to comment

bosshogg 4 Posted January 7, 2008 Oh how I like this. I don't think you get the credit for their mostly matching clothes, but that and the colorless background are just perfect to go with those red Popsicles. And the expressions are priceless. This one is eminently publishable. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted January 7, 2008 Okay. David and I came to this photo INDEPENDENTLY after perusing through your portfolio. This one was a real stand-out. Imagine my surprise to find that David, whose opinion I respect greatly, had also clicked on this one today. I think we're both time-traveling back to summer, back to days of dirty faces and popsicles, and back through your portfolio. This is a perfect capture of kids being kids. Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted January 7, 2008 OK, first and foremost I am Flattered!! Secondly.....how do you get something published, how do you get yourself out there, HOW??????? Thanks Guys! Her shirt is really pink! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 8, 2008 I will admit that many is the time that I've seen schlocky images that I did not find that artistically meritorious in publications like Parade magazine and other similar mags. This is superior to many I've seen published. Parade, and many other mags are always asking for images. This is one of those that would have a real shot at it. I'm not saying they would appreciate the nuances and all, but it is certainly an example of where you might try. If Sally Mann did this image (and it is as good as some of hers), it would be hanging in some galleries. Alas, you and I are not yet "discovered." Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted January 13, 2008 David, I am proud to say that I've discovered both you and Janis and that I'm very pleased to have done so! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 13, 2008 That's all well and good, and I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but I was hoping to find a patron that would bankroll me. Interested? Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted January 13, 2008 Yeah Shawn interested. Since it is on my page I would expect nothing less than the same....bankroll...! You notice David said nothing about bankrolling me! Thanks Shawn! j Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted January 13, 2008 If I see either of you on the street "spare changing" I will dig deep! This is really a wonderful photograph Janis! Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted January 13, 2008 Thanks Shawn, both for the kind comment, and the spare change!j Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 2, 2008 This is priceless! Love how you captured the expressions and personally of each child. The neutral background shows off the children very well. The touch of mud on them makes for even more a adorable photo of kids being kids. Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted February 2, 2008 Thanks Diana, you are the first to call it a "touch of mud"! They sure had fun! J Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted September 29, 2012 In addition to all of the comments above I add that what I like is that it brings an immediate smile. Perfect timing to catch all three expressions from these little "hams"... Mike Link to comment
