janc 0 Posted October 19, 2009 Hola Jack. You are a wonderful master with captions and shots, this one is very emotive and you present us a complete tale. Thanks for these nice shots. Abrazos. Link to comment
giuseppe_pasquali 0 Posted October 19, 2009 that in its apparent simplicity puts the viewer in front of a complex narrative. To extract such images from the overwhelming stream of daily visions is a job that only a pair of bright eyes could accomplish with such balance and effectiveness. Thanks for sharing, Giuseppe Link to comment
jbm 0 Posted October 19, 2009 I really enjoy this shot, particularly the interplay of lines in the shadows as they come off the wall onto the ground. Fun stuff! It might be interesting in BW with extra contrast added to the shadows. Cheers, Jay Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted October 19, 2009 "Emotive?" "Evocative?" Whatever, you sure no how to do it. I've never seen anyone who could squeeze out so much mystery out of so much inanity. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 20, 2009 Good morning (here)....Entered your work and smiled right away. it is so simple and still says so much about human, the plastic with the Japanese calligraphy makes it.. It looks like an orator speaking....;-)) you really know how to use the street finds, saying a lot with nearly nothing... Link to comment
gunnar1664882369 1 Posted October 20, 2009 I love the image. Excellent composition. The play with light and shadows is marvellous! Impressive work. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 20, 2009 I'm very pleased that so many of the photographers I respect responded to this picture. I take a lot of pictures but there are few that are really special to me and this is one of them. Thank you all very much. Link to comment
Todd Kowalski 2 Posted October 21, 2009 Jack, I am late as usual when it comes to the time of day or evening when I can sit down , relax, and enjoy. This, I truly do enjoy! It could almost pass as a charcol drawing save for the fact of the wonderful bag and it's writing. Like others have said in various ways, you make so much of so little. Often I try to emulate that idea, but then my things get "gunked up" with blither blather. I look to you for the depth of simplicity. Thanks Jack, Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted November 2, 2009 Great use of light here. I thought of two things when I saw this - a person giving a presentation as Pnina suggested or someone leaning back and contemplating the mural. Anyways, this is a great piece of work that stimulates the brain. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted November 9, 2009 Light is everyting...this particurlarly mundane scene is really nicely shaped and smoothly invigorated by the light and shadows...it's surprising considering the subject, and that's precisely why I like it.. Link to comment
birdkevin 0 Posted November 11, 2009 love the minimalism of tone and subject matter. Hectic, this goes into the fav's. Would really love to know the meaning of the print on packet only because the picture invokes that...and then weirdly hoping I never find out...only because the picture invokes that...great shot Link to comment
human images 4 Posted November 11, 2009 I come late to this Jack, but not too late to add my voice to the chorus. Even if it seems like nothing at first this piece grabs my attention, the beauty is undeniable if so unexpected, and it surprises me. The softness of light recalls the religious iconography of classic painting, so oddly present in such a setting. But the light is only part of it... Link to comment
