I love the expression on her face. It's that pensive moment right before the tears start to fall (as you said). The furrowed eyebrows, the watery eyes...all beautifully done. I know someone will probably not like that part of the left hand is cut off, but doesn't bother me. The expression on the face, and the eyes particularly, carry this photo.

I love the "at the moment" shots and here's another good example of it. I'd have to agree and crop in on the face

I think the expression of hands also contributes to the expression, so maybe I wouldn't cropp it.
