dandem 1 Posted May 10, 2009 I stumbled upon this Cuban man sitting on the curb. His expression never changed while talking with him - he's hurting. Comments please. Thanks!! Link to comment

bevip 0 Posted May 11, 2009 It is a great work, the expression of his face and wrinkle reveal a harsh and bitter exteriority. Who knows how it is inside his soul. You have acquired a very effective technique that is well suited to portraits of man and animals. Best Regards. Link to comment

setsail728 15 Posted May 11, 2009 Lawrence, That face reads like a roadmap of dispair!! The music would be "nobody knows the trouble I've seen!" Just a fabulous portrait, brilliantly rendered into your signature style and made all the more powerful by your choice of black and white. One of your best works of the many great ones of yours I've already seen!! Bravo! Link to comment
lesliejbng 0 Posted May 11, 2009 Lawrence, Fantastic portrait and portrayal of a hard life! Biw tones are wonderful and the post work as always perfect. The lines on the face are like those of an aged oak with much history embedded in them. Fine work! Take care, Leslie :) Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted May 11, 2009 Man, if only his 'wrinkles' could talk....I'm glad he is still alive.....hate for him to be a 'ghost' somewhere....stuck between the 'light and darkness'.....gives me the shivers.....not that I believe in this stuff....but I had an 'encounter' with a 'ghost' that lived in a Century old home/restaurant in Port Perry, Ont. (we lived there.....I used to do manicure/nails for the owner......the Murray House is featured in a book....think it's 'Haunted Houses of Soughtern Ontario'........tell you about it somethime...thankfully this 'fella' was very friendly......get chills as I speak of it...... Back to your wonderful Art Work....at least you've 'immortalized him'.....perhaps today if he is still alive, he may have a 'reason to smile' - great work Lawrence....he would have been great in "Pirates of the Caribbean"....wouldn't have needed to put too much 'makeup' on him!!! Good show Lawrence! Link to comment
hus 0 Posted May 11, 2009 Great title but even if you didnt have it one could say he went through a lot. Great job Lawrence! Link to comment
