Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 25, 2009 Don't you just love the blue mop? By the way, it wasn't hanging from a hook or anyting, it was stiff as a board and balanced "on point" like a ballerina. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 25, 2009 Very nice still life, Jack. The color works well and the shadows, for me, make the shot. They provide that life that light gives to any photo. Nice job of framing to hone this scene to its essential geometric and storytelling elements. I like your ballerina reference. Your exposure seems to maximize the energy in the shot. It's still, but not quiet. There's a dazzle here. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 26, 2009 Many thanks. Your eloquent assessment actually helped me see the picture in a new way. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted March 26, 2009 Rhapsody in Blue by Jack. A composition almost lyrical. Simple yet striking image by the touch of a maestro. Link to comment
ray.koushik 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Agree with Fred and AK. Is this a montage? I wonder how the broom stands there! compliments -koushik Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted March 26, 2009 I'm on the road but got a few minutes to jump into Pnet, so I thought I'd see what the maestro was up to. Still have the eye for the sublime. Picasso would be proud. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 27, 2009 The" dancing mop" ( stands on its toes....) and singing the blues....so you have a whole show ;-)) funny, well lighted and shadowed, a real spectacle.Nice staging by directore Jack.... Link to comment
kentb2 0 Posted March 27, 2009 So pristine and crisp it almost appears illustrative. I think the hard shadows accentuate that effect. Graphically great. Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted March 28, 2009 ... you just see those things that we all miss. And not only are they great pictures, there is always a story lurking just behind the visible image. I love this about your work, Jack. Link to comment

drewmurphy 0 Posted March 30, 2009 Giuseppe said it "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". I feel like that mop is gonna leap into action any instant. Good one Jack :) Link to comment
dennisdixson 0 Posted April 13, 2009 Yes, you can almost feel the sexual tension between the mop and bucket. It is a great shot on many levels. Tension is a good descriptor for the various elements that seem to be in opposition to each other. Link to comment
