knobby6 1 Posted March 12, 2009 These fish eating machines have no problem swallowing a fish of this size. The turquoise in the mouth is part of their breeding colors. Link to comment

blue-olympus 0 Posted March 12, 2009 Lovely shot Monte..I'd be interested to know how many frames did you take to enable you to capture this splendid moment? Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted March 12, 2009 Another great shot, Monte! I would also be interested in Keith's question. How did you have your AF set up? My assumption is that you were using 8 fps with the D300 since you have the battery grip attached. Well done as usual! 7/7 Dick Link to comment
knobby6 1 Posted March 12, 2009 Close to 40 frames, as a larger fish takes longer to swallow. single point focus, continuously, and the water is actually the ugly green you see. Link to comment
chrisr1 0 Posted March 12, 2009 What a great capture. How can he eat a so big fish ? (7/7 an) Christine Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted March 12, 2009 Thanks, Monte! I know you can really get a lot of shots off in a hurry at 8 fps. Dick Link to comment
linh dinh 1 Posted March 12, 2009 That's a good one!, perfect instant, fish breaking the water. Best regards, Linh Dinh Link to comment
knobby6 1 Posted March 12, 2009 I'm using the standard D300 batteries. I think you need to use AA batts or the larger D3 batteries to get the 8 fps. Link to comment
