This is so beautiful, Tony! I love it!

The mood created, the light beams, and the autumn colours.

Very well done!

As for the first rate of 4/3, it is not a matter of taste here, it is more a matter of people wanting to underate others images so that they're own photos will have a better place in the top images ranking. Imho.

Have a great day!

Thank you for your strong endorsement - re the 4/3 - maybe you are right - who knows! I will be printing this to hang - on their invitation - at my church.

This one is great, Tony. I love the simplicity-- the separation from the background, the rays, and subtle colors. Regards, Jeff

Tony - I love this. Moved it to one of my favorites - and I don't do that too often. Great eye. Such a simple subject, really, but captured the beauty in simplicity. Congratulations on a wonderful, wonderful image!

Thank you very much for your kind comments - glad you liked it. I am not presented with these opportunities very often. Not everyone likes this type of scene as one individual rated it 4/3 with the 3 indicating that the image could not be any worse (*_*)

Many thanks for your comments. I am afraid that I have not been very active at Photo.net recently so I apologize for my late response. I have been working on building a personal web-site and this is one of the imagess that i will be placing there. Even though the site is far from finished you can take a peak here

The fine crepescula rays create a fan of light that makes a magnificent backdrop to the nicely detailed trunks and maple leafs.

Beatiful shot!

Tony, I think this is a very technically sound image as well as beautiful. The use of backlighting is impressive, but as I once asked before, did you use any special technique such as HDR to get rich color of the leaves?

Keep shooting and posting, JBP.

Jon: Thanks for your kind words. This image was taken quite a number of years ago and based on memory, I did not saturate colors.  As I look at the image the colors (at least on my monitor) do not appear to be saturated at all. The only thing I can offer is for you to conduct this little exercise. Take some fall leaves and and walk around it in a full circle. When the leaves are back-lit as they are in this case, the leaves will look much brighter and more saturated both to your eye and the camera. Hope that helps.

PS Definitely no HDR and for what it is worth, proper use of HDR does not increase saturation  - at least not in my case.l

A very refined and elegant aspect of fall, unusually and pleasingly different. The capture of light and shadows is exceptional.
