Two trees and an afternoon cloud

Nice B&W. I'm especially fond of tree shots, and this is a beaut. I suspect the photo incorporates the entire grayscale gradient, and the contrast is effective. By the way, how did you get the cloud to pose above the tree?

Yes, the picture out of the camera incorporated the entire greyscale but I adjusted the levels to expand the tonal range from black to white. Then I changed the contrast to my taste.

 

It was quite easy to take this picture with the cloud above the tree -my only task was to find the place from which the main elements of the compositon (the two trees and the cloud) didn't overlap one another. I just stood on one of the cut down trunks which the hill was full of:)
