Thank you (and everyone) for your kind comments. As for the PN rating system, well, the way I look at it, it's just numbers. One man's 5 is another man's 7 ... and one man's 5 is another man's 3. So the numbers are just opinions of what people think. They aren't gospel, and I don't spend much time worrying about the numbers. I like to think the numbers are useful for gauging how people feel about the image in a general sense. If you get all 3's, then the image is probably not your best work. If you get a lot of 5's or higher, it's clear that people like the image. I do appreciate your point that some people seem to give low ratings on obviously good work, but that is their right, and if we put our images out there to be rated then we have to accept that fact. You can't please everyone, and it's not worth trying to. Just be glad we have the PN community where the vast majority of users appreciate good photography and let you know through insightful comments. As for your own work, Lawrence, I took a long look and your work is exceptional. Take the ratings with a grain of salt and keep posting your great images. I like very many of them. -David :)

No, you can't worry about the ratings. I figure anything over a 5 average translates to pretty darn good! Anyway, this one is really nicely presented. I like the dark background that makes the iguana pop. Nice detail.
