maggies 0 Posted September 15, 2008 I arrived a bit late for this image...but since it's not going anywhere I suppose it's OK.Theres no sign of electricity in this room however the sun provides adequate light for the children to read by...soon many schools will be reverting back to natural light...and theres enough timber in the corner to make a fire to keep the children warm..Great shot with lots of personal meaning that can be read into it...a giant Rorchach Test...now you have me rambling...time to stop while I'm "ahead?"...Marjorie Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted September 21, 2008 I love the image and the title to gather, "No Child Left Behind", the ironic empty statement. Bravo David, keep up the good work. Cheers; Bela Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted October 13, 2008 The title, of course, comes from the opening line from the Bob Dylan song, but the image reminds me so much of a book by a Russian writer about the deserted towns following the Chernobyl nuclear reactor incident. The ethos are the same, of things that used to be that no longer were, of governments that promised plenty but were nowhere to be found in times of need, of desolation, decay, pain, sorrow, and suffering, a world without promise or hope, a desolate landscape where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. bosshogg 4 Posted October 16, 2008 As is often the case you have most eloquently expressed my own inadequate expressions. I thank you. Link to comment
aramat57 3 Posted October 20, 2008 Well, David, Once again I have spent the better part of two hours reading comments on your images. It never ceases to amaze me how your works bring out commentary, both studied and profound. I ain't got no words like those, so I will just say this image speaks to me. I would have been spooked in there, too. Not for fear of ghosts, though. Just history and the past pressing in too close. Great shot. Warm regards,Tammy Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted October 22, 2008 Thanks for the kind words. Yes, sometimes I am blessed with some damn smart and kind commentors on my images. Thanks for reading them. I know that there is a lot more to be learned from them than me. Link to comment
