I particukary like photographs not obvious. I only understand the structure reflected wen I saw "in the mirror-1". I like this picture and i like most your Single Photos, People and 2006, 2007 and 2008 Empty Spaces series. More than mere academic graphic exercices, you presented a personal vision in these empty spaces. Best regards, Carlos

Few abstract photos keep me on looking at for this long. I just love this and I do not want to analyze why!

Looks like more revisited material is coming, something I welcome willingly... This is a very good, calm and pleasent addition to your series. I notice how you included the darker line bottom left to discreetly counterweight the cast shadow of the stool. Details do count, you know - and you do know (as I see it). ;-)

Off-topic: this caption "emptied - 2" doesn't refer to previous "emptied", rather to "in the mirror - 1". So sorry to say it's inconsequent, IMHO.

Thank-you all for your kind appreciation!

Markku, I have been thinking quite a lot before naming this shot: it could easily be "in the mirror - 2", as "in the mirror - 1" focused on reflection in a perfectly still water.

Also "emptied - 1" had reflection and water but I chose to focus on the emptiness and silence of that pool after many hours of loud voices, swimmers, divers and kids playing. The red ball forgotten by a small kid in this one has the same meaning of the still springboard in the first one. So it is not completely inconsequent! :-) Thank-you as always for your deep attention to details!

I'm not a big fan of abstract images but this is brilliant. Perfect use of the long shadows and shapes. I would only suggest the horizon be off-center. Perhaps with more of the pool water showing so that it takes 2/3 the frame. Again, great capture and sharp eye.
