I like the use of light here. I also think a tilt/shift lens would have allowed you to keep the shallow DOF and still retain near/far sharpness. I find the blurry bg unfortunate and would like to see crisp focus throughout.

Simlple photo, but very beautiful:)

The subject is  very nice, the b&w is a good choice, if  you  focused at the first 1/4 distance, (The  red rectangle, indicated on the attached image. Or lower.) and f/16, you would have a sharp image all over.  The left sky, tone down slightly. The image is  very well composed, I like it very much.
