This is actually a very contrasty negative. But when "under printed"

I like the emotional imapct of the picture. It was taken of a 9 year

old sun bathing on the rocks in a Maine river near Bethel.

It's a terrific shot with a lot of potential. The sharply defined shadow outline kills it for me. I find that too distracting. I think that leaving the shadowed sand extending to the bottom of the frame would do wonders for this shot. You may also consider dodging the right hand. The shadow outline of the hand doesn't mesh with the overall feeling. This is a very tricky thing to pull off. I love the idea, but the execution is the thing that will either make or break this photograph. It has to be just so, otherwise the image doesn't work.
